Julie Ann "Sissy" Green

Green

34-year-old Julie Green was the second victim of the Daytona Beach killer. Her nude (partially clothed) body was found on January 14, 2006 in a ditch next to a dirt road west of LPGA Boulevard near the Bayberry Lakes subdivision. The area was a construction site. She had been shot to death with a .40 caliber handgun. Police say Green had been killed less than 24 hours earlier. Julie Green was last seen by Rick Marcott, a boyfriend, at 8PM on January 13, 2006. Marcott said she headed from his house on Tomoka Road to Mason Avenue to use a public telephone. She intended to call her father.

Julie Green had become addicted to crack, which some say led to prostitution.

Gilbert told The Green felt for her life because she had double-crossed someone. "Smilly" is an alias of Rick Marcott. Green also sent Gilbert, who was incarcerated at the time, a photo of herself and another young woman. In black ink next to the image, Green had written: "Find her -- she can help."

Frank "Mitch" Gilbert

Julie Green's boyfriend, Frank Gilbert, and LaQuetta Gunther's best friend Stacey Dittmer believed the killings were performed by a drug dealer or a person that Green and Gunther may have stolen from. However, Gilbert did not understand how Patton was related as a murder victimbecause her personality was different and she didn't steal. Gilbert said Green knew Patton and the two visited hm together on occasions. Julie Green was friends with LaQuetta Gunther.

Rick Marcott, a boyfriend of Green's, said that Green had stayed at least two weeks in a house in Bunnell where Gunther and another homicide victim, Laura Lee Welsh, had stayed. "The guy they were staying with had been in jail," Marcott said.

Acquaintances of Green stated that she had worked as a prostitute. Green was arrested for drugs on several occasions. Julie Green's father asserts that his daughter was "not a prostitute and had never been arrested for prostitution."
