Attempted Abduction: January 24, 2007

On Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at approximately 0730 hours an unknown Hispanic male driving an older model light blue Cadillac with tinted windows approached a teenage girl at her bus stop on the corner of Bellevue Ave. and S. Seagrave St. The unknown male offered to give the girl a ride to school. When she would not acknowledge him, the unknown male exited the vehicle and started walking towards her. Another vehicle arriving in the area caused the unknown male to return to his vehicle and leave the area eastbound on Bellevue Ave. She advised that the driver was a Hispanic male, in his early 30s, 5’8” – 5’10”, with shoulder length black curly hair and a goatee.

On August 25, 2006, at approximately 1600 hours, there was a similar incident in which an unknown Hispanic male in an older model light blue 4 door vehicle with light tinted windows approached a teenager in the rear of Checkers located at 1174 Beville Rd. The teenager had just gotten off the school bus and was walking down a dirt path in the wooded area to her apartment located in the Countryside Apartment Complex when, she was approached by a Hispanic male with a ponytail and goatee. The unknown male made physical contact with the teenager, attempting to pull her towards his vehicle. She was able to free herself and run for help. A composite of the suspect was completed and photos of the vehicle were obtained. (See attached bolo below)

Vehicle Information:

1990’s model, light blue 4 door vehicle, has black molding running front to rear mid door. This car has no, or very light tint. Below are video surveillance photographs.

The above listed subject is sought for questioning in an ongoing investigation. If contacted complete a comprehensive F.I.C. with photograph including information and photographs of the vehicle he is driving. Immediately forward to Detective J. Hawkins or Detective K. Eastin.

Location: 900 block Beville Road

Time: 4:36 PM


Units responded to the location in reference to an attempted abduction. Investigation revealed that a female juvenile, had just gotten off the school bus and was walking home. A Hispanic male driving a newer model Cadillac DTS, pulled along the roadway and rolled down the window and tried to lured her to get into the vehicle asking the juvenile if she wanted a ride. The male stated "Come on I'm concerned about you walking by yourself." The female juvenile continued to walk away and called her brother who in turn, told her to hang up and call the police. She called her father who is a Sergeant with the Daytona Beach Police Department. Units checked the area and were met with negative results for the suspect. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male 30 to 40 years old, no facial hair, and possibly bald. He was last seen wearing a green and white jersey. The vehicle is a newer model DTS off white in color with a hood ornament and a blue or red pin stripe on the side. The vehicle was last seen headed east on Beville Road. No composite at this time.
